Alaska Mining Rush of '79...and now it's time again— Page 5 of 5
Which brings us back to the stupidity of some judge signing a Sierra Club document back in the 80’s that just about bankrupt small scale gold miners in Alaska. Don’t take my word for it. Call the Jack Wade Gold Shop in Tok that sells historical Alaskan trinkets and asked them how their harvest of a season’s hard work building holding ponds and other environmental protection safeguards was brought to a screeching halt, for the benefit of who?

Ophir Alaska Prospecting Expedition 5The concern brought to light by the identification of the “real causes” of global warming is how long will our supposedly concerned “environmental protection” society stand for un-American Asian smelter emission standards polluting the sky of “protected” Alaska, or settling as a brown “heat haze” over outsider’s beloved Loss Vegas?

Or realizing that stockbroker controlled multinational mining corporations have followed American industry off to anyplace that allows the exploitation of labor to exploit common shareholders by manipulation of profit and loss charts?

My thinking —taken with a grain of salt as I am just a simple Alaskan prospector who did not go the Yale, or Harvard, or any ivy league school of business— is that when investors realize that a chart mapping the price of oil has been echoing, low point, for high point, with the spot value (let alone society's need for, especially for environmental control) of the Alaskan minerals as gold, silver, zinc, copper, lead, will lead to yet another, predictable, rush North to Alaska. Just as happened in 1898, 1920, 1935, 1955, 1979, and.... 2007?
